The checklist covers the process of vetting, sampling, ordering, paying which applies whether you're making clothing, candles, ceramics, or cosmetics. Of course there may be product specific things that are not on the list and that's why we've created it in Google Docs, so you can edit and make it your own.
Does it only work for Alibaba?
The checklist references Alibaba tools like Trade Assurance and Verified Supplier filters because that's where most founders start. The vetting, sampling, and payment principles apply to any overseas factory.
Will it be updated?
We update the master doc when sourcing platforms or processes change meaningfully.
